Membaca Makna Kepahlawanan Founding Fathers Indonesia di Balik Desain Mata Uang Rp 100.000 Melalui Perspektif Semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce

Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan menginterpretasikan makna di balik perkembangan representasi visual founding fathers pada mata uang Rp100.000 sebagai cerminan narasi nasional yang dominan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce yang menekankan pada triadik tanda yaitu representamen, objek, dan interpretant serta klasifikasi tanda berupa ikon, indeks, dan simbol. Data primer berupa spesimen uang kertas Rp100.000 dari ketiga seri (1999, 2014, 2016) yang diperoleh melalui dokumentasi resmi Bank Indonesia. Data sekunder berupa dokumen Bank Indonesia, literatur sejarah, dan kajian desain visual. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui identifikasi elemen visual, analisis relasi tanda dengan teori Peirce, interpretasi makna denotatif dan konotatif, serta komparasi antar periode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa susunan elemen visual diantaranya warna, ilustrasi atau gambar, tipografi yang khas membawakan makna simbolik terkait kepahlawanan Soekarno dan Hatta sebagai founding fathers Indonesia. Makna founding fathers mengalami transformasi dari masa ke masa yang mencerminkan pergeseran narasi nasional.
