Publication Ethics
KONSEL: International Bulletin on Interdisciplinary Studies is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. All parties involved in the publishing process—authors, editors, peer reviewers, and the publisher—must agree to and adhere to the following ethical principles.
1. Duties of Authors
-
Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their submissions are original and free from plagiarism. Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources are required.
-
Multiple Submissions: Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal. Redundant or duplicate publication is strictly prohibited.
-
Authorship: Only those who have made a significant contribution to the research and writing process should be listed as authors.
-
Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
-
Reporting Standards: Authors must present their research honestly and transparently, with accurate methods and data.
2. Duties of Editors
-
Fair Play: Manuscripts are evaluated solely on intellectual merit, without regard to race, gender, religion, citizenship, or political beliefs of the authors.
-
Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and not disclose any information to third parties.
-
Editorial Independence: Editorial decisions are based on the paper’s academic value and relevance to the journal’s scope.
-
Handling Misconduct: Editors will take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred.
3. Duties of Reviewers
-
Confidentiality: Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
-
Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with clear and constructive feedback to improve the manuscript.
-
Disclosure and Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline to review if they have a conflict of interest with any of the authors or institutions involved.
-
Timeliness: Reviewers are expected to complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe.
4. Publisher’s Responsibilities
The publisher is committed to ensuring that the journal operates in an ethical and transparent manner. We work closely with editors and authors to maintain the integrity of the academic record, investigate allegations of misconduct, and take corrective action when necessary.
