All manuscripts submitted to Rawa Aopa Law Review (RALR) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, the editorial team will perform a preliminary review to determine whether the manuscript:

  • Fits the journal’s focus and scope,

  • Fulfills technical requirements (formatting, length, citation style),

  • Passes the plagiarism check (maximum 20% similarity).

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be desk-rejected or returned for revision prior to peer review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Eligible manuscripts are assigned to two independent reviewers with expertise in the subject matter. Both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous throughout the review process.

Reviewers will assess the manuscript based on:

  • Originality and contribution to legal scholarship

  • Methodology and argumentation (for empirical or doctrinal work)

  • Clarity, coherence, and structure

  • Relevance of references and sources

  • Compliance with ethical standards

3. Editorial Decision

Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept (without revision)

  • Accept with Minor Revisions

  • Revise and Resubmit (Major Revisions)

  • Reject

Authors will receive the reviewer comments and are expected to submit revised manuscripts within the specified time frame.

4. Revision and Final Decision

Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for re-evaluation (in case of major revisions). The final decision will be made by the editorial board.

5. Timeline

The average time from submission to final decision is approximately 6–10 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and the revision process.

6. Confidentiality and Ethics

All manuscripts and review reports are treated as confidential. Reviewers are required to disclose any conflict of interest and to review objectively.
